If I can speak in the languages of all man—and even the languages of angels—but I don't
show love, I only make a lot of noise. I communicate nothing. If I can see into the future,
if I can understand all mysteries, if I have all the knowledge there is, and if I have
such strong faith so that I believed I could move mountains—but if I didn't have love, I
would be nothing. If I give away everything I own to the poor, and if I give my life to die
for someone or something I believe in—but I don't give love, I will have gained nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not prond. Love
is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of
wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. Love always protects,
always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. There are three great
things that will never end: faith, hope and love, but the greatest of these is love.
